01. Our Story
Hi, there! I am Galyna, the person behind Pom Pom. It all started as a one men show back in 2016 when I ordered a skein of chunky merino wool to knit a beanie for myself. It was the one pictured above, I called it a "cotton candy", because it looks exactly like a treat :D
My Instagram page followed and a picture of this hat got a great success :) I was into knitting ever since high school, but it took me nearly a decade to share this with the world.
Since then, I hold my giant needles daily and create super chunky knitwear for you and your loved ones to enjoy. It's made of 100% merino wool - a natural fiber that is super soft and extra warm. It's hypoallergenic, making it safe for those with sensitive skin and for kids! Are you ready to wrap up in coziness this winter?
02. My workplace
My home in Ottawa, ON is the birthplace of all the knitwear. All items in this shop are handmade only, using either giant needles or arms for arm knitting.
I am getting the wool for my knitwear from trusted family-owned wool suppliers in Canada and the US. Upon arrival, I divide my wool into three thickness categories. The thickest unspun wool is used for cowls. It’s super bulky and extremely soft. Then I split the wool in half to make chunky beanies. And finally, I quarter original wool to knit mittens. Even though a thickness of yarn varies greatly, all items remain unbelievably soft and surprisingly warm.
